On Tuesday, December 3rd, Metallurgica San Marco hosted students from the Master’s degree program in Engineering for Materials and Product Innovation at the University of Brescia at its Ponte San Marco facility.
During the visit, the students explored the entire production process of brass bars, starting at the scrap yard, where material selection criteria were explained, and continuing through the phases of alloy melting, continuous casting, extrusion, and drawing. The final stop was at the quality control laboratories, where metallographic, mechanical, and metrological analyses are carried out.
The day concluded with a discussion between the students and our staff, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas and delve deeper into technical aspects of the sector.
We are proud to support initiatives that bring young talent closer to the manufacturing world, fostering dialogue between academia and industry.
