13 December 2016 – Today a press conference was held to present the new accord between the public and private sectors endorsed by the signing of the agreement for competitiveness between Metallurgica San Marco, the Municipality of Calcinato, CSMT and the Region of Lombardy. The latter has given the final go-ahead to the non-repayable sum of 1.9 million euros, which will be used in the town in the Bassa bresciana area.
The funds will be divided into two sums: one million will be used by Metallurgica San Marco for innovation and research projects that will materialize through a substantial alteration of the production facilities to improve and make new production processes more efficient; the other million will go to the Municipality of Calcinato to start the work needed to make the former Marconi cinema operative again. Designated to become a place where society and business can meet, called Comunità impresa lab 3.0, it is a forward-looking project with a social responsibility which is heartily commended by Metallurgica San Marco.
